OVERVIEW:

When looking for things to do in Oudtshoorn (or close by) then look no further than the Cango Wildlife Ranch, which was established in 1977. This world-class experience combines family fun with education about conservation and they are conveniently situated en route to the Cango Caves.

Their good standing with the NSPCA (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is evident through their recently awarded certificates for good practice and excellent animal care.

VALLEY OF ANCIENTS
Their guided tour starts in the amazing Zimbawe Temple ruins and tropical forest; home to giant flying foxes, the tiny rare blue duiker and a giant cichlid pool offering you the opportunity to view crocodiles under water! Cross over the swing bridge of Snapper Gorge as you explore the mighty rivers of Africa. Encounter many rare and spectacular creatures along your path, including the secretive red river hogs, agile spotted-necked otters, "˜not-so-petite' pygmy hippos and so much more. Don't miss, their vulture cliff face where endangered Cape vultures roost and share their leftovers with the bizarre looking Marabou Stork. This themed walk-through experience promises to entertain and captivate visitors, whilst simultaneously leaving them very aware of the pressing conservation issues our fragile planet is presently threatened with.

LEMUR FALLS
Cross the rapids at the mighty Lemur Falls and enter Madagascar's primeval forest, home to Africa's first fully interactive lemur encounter exhibit. From the fun loving ring-tailed lemur to the majestic black and white ruffs, these cuddly animals are sure to captivate you with their exotic beauty and gentle nature, whilst they capture the moment on camera for you.

CHEETAHLAND
Meander on the catwalk over large natural enclosures, home to some of the world's greatest big cats. Have a bird's eye view of the elegant cheetah, mighty lion, breathtaking African leopard and the awesome white Bengal tiger. Our experienced guides will take you on a fun-filled and informative tour, highlighting the plight of these mighty animals.
