Beaufort West, Central Karoo - Accommodation

Lemoenfontein Game Lodge rating

Discover South Africa has some great Beaufort West accommodation for you. Lemoenfontein, in the shadow of the Nuweveld Mountains, is a place where after a tiring drive down the N1 you will find calmness and tranquility. You will arrive and immediately you will be sitting enjoying a cool drink on the vast wooden veranda, gazing over measureless miles of veld.

The Lodge was built as a hunting lodge in 1850, then became a sanatorium for respiratory sufferers (the dry Karoo air was beneficial), a farm and finally (and still) a nature reserve.

At this accommodation in Beaufort West there is the original wooden floors, high ceilings, and wonderful verandas, which gives guests a place to see the wonderful view of the karoo.

There is a stylish, comfortable, modern interior and the rooms are understated with top-quality fabrics and comfortable beds. There are wall heaters, ceiling fans, air-conditioners and en suite bathrooms. There is also DSTV, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryers and toiletries at this accommodation Beaufort West offers.

Outside there are lawns, a swimming pool, bar and braai area for you to enjoy. You must go on a game drive through the reserve before dinner - to look at all the buck, giraffe and zebra of course. Game drives are early in the morning and in the late afternoon where up to twenty-three various game species may be viewed as well as the spectacular scenery while the sun goes down.

Enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the lounge that has a lovely fireplace to keep you warm on those chilly winter nights. The Dinners served at Lemoenfontein are mouth-watering - A real South African experience which are served either on the Verandah in the summer or in the dining room, with a cosy log fire, in the winter.

So stay in Beaufort West at the lovely Lemoenfontein Game Farm and enjoy beautiful safari sunsets and Karoo hospitality.
