It is the seat of the Hessequa municipality that forms part of the Eden District in the Western Cape Province.
All rooms offered are en suite, Internet is free of charge and guests can enjoy a drink from the homely honesty bars in the two private lounges. Two cottages with lounges and patios supplement the normal accommodation. Guests experience total privacy since the hosts reside in the Edwardian homestead of the De Doornkraal Estate.
