Buccaneers Lodge & Backpackers accommodation in Chintsa has been described as a "backpackers village" because of the way it sprawls out over the 8 hectares of Wild Coastal forest overlooking the stunning Chintsa beach in South Africa.

Buccaneers offers accommodation options to suit every type of traveller and their budget! From simple airy dorms and camping, to budget double and twins in shared cottages, en-suites, luxury suites and family beach-style cottages.

Backpackers Dorms, budget double or twins and safari tents offer a safe and scenic place to stay with stunning sea and bay views.

Cottages, en-suites and our luxury suites offer a range of views from the breathe-taking "million dollar view" of the ocean to the peaceful, serene garden.

Self-catering is always an option but check our menu before you bring your groceries along! Famous for our freshly prepared meals in hearty portions and kind on the pocket, and always with a vegetarian option available - let yourself get sucked into the camaraderie of Buccaneers and enjoy a meal whilst sharing stories with fellow backpackers.

Buccaneers also hosts a lively backpackers bar, a pool and pool bar (Summer season), a beauty bungalow and a wide range of adventure activities. Join a surf school, beach horse trail, cultural tour through Mama Tofu's traditional village or a mountain bike ride. You can also get involved in the local community in our half day pre-school volunteering experience or decide to stay for longer on our Fair Trade accredited Wild Coast Schools volunteer program which is based in Chintsa.

If all this is enough to exhaust you then simply grab your book, wander down the hill and find yourself on the quiet, sandy Chintsa beach where you can just relax, unwind and enjoy the view.
